The Challenge
The logistics team monitored stock levels manually, relying on periodic reports exported from SAP. Materials regularly dropped below the safety threshold before a replenishment order was raised, causing production delays and expensive emergency deliveries. The approval and ordering process involved multiple departments and consumed significant time that could be better spent elsewhere.
Our Solution
We developed an automated workflow integrated directly with SAP S/4HANA through standard APIs. The system continuously monitors stock levels and, when a material falls below a defined threshold, automatically generates a detailed report, sends it to the responsible manager for approval and, once confirmed, dispatches a purchase order directly to the supplier. The entire process, from detecting a shortage to sending the order, runs without manual involvement.
